Mr. Alimi is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation . He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Lagos State University, Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Caleb University, Imota, Lagos and Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from the Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo, Lagos.
Before joining the Lagos State Civil Service in June 2001, he worked with Smithkline Beecham and Glaxo Smirhkline Nigeria Plc. and rose to the post of Factory Accountant. He had earlier worked as the Branch Accountant of Sterling Products Nigeria Limited, Lagos between 1993-1996.
As Director, Treasury Directorate, his responsibilities include verification of all payment vouchers through Account Payable Module before payments are effected to the MDAs and other third parties. He also ensures payment of staff salaries, pensions subventions, running cost, repayment of Loans, Bonds and other State’s obligations. In addition, he prepares Cash Flow and Budget Performance Analysis. He supervises the State Joint Accounts Allocation Committee accounts among others.
His professional contributions to the state include participation in Budget preparation, restructuring of loans to ease financial burden of the State Government. He participated in the preparation of New Chart of Accounts.
Mr. Alimi has attended several professional trainings, retreats and workshops locally and internationally to keep abreast of current trends in his profession.
He enjoys travelling, reading and listening to news.
